Our Philosophy

KKSH Holdings’ investment philosophy is very simple. If you don’t understand it, don’t invest in it. If you don’t know the people, don’t invest in them. Invest only in what you know.

With these fundamentals in mind, KKSH only invests in the upstream oil and gas sector because it knows it well. And we pay a lot of attention to the management team.

Typically we are most comfortable taking early investment positions where we believe we can use our network, experience and expertise to assist management to reach their goals and deliver to their business strategies.

As a small investment company, whilst having investment guidelines to work within,  we can also be very flexible in the type of role we take as an investor, the length of time we invest for and the amount we actually invest.

Investments

As a venture capitalist investor, KKSH Holding’s portfolio is divided into two distinct areas. Longer Term Strategic and Short Term Share Market.

Longer Term Strategic Investment (LTS)

LTS investments are capped at a maximum of $500,000 per investment, with typically a 2-3 year exit expectation.

Short Term Share Market (STSM)

STSM investments range between $50,000 to $100,000 with typical exit expectation under 12 months.

Geographical

KKSH is not geographically constrained in our portfolio reach and we are currently invested in projects in North America, Africa, Asia and Australia. Whilst not being geographically constrained in terms of project location, we do however require the entities in which we invest to be resident in jurisdictions where we are confident in the legal and commercial structure.

Exploration & Production (E&P)

In the E&P sector we look for a balance between exploration and production with a leaning towards projects or entities where at least a part of the potential that are close to or in production.

We also have a liking for “brownfield” projects, which demonstrate good potential for secondary,  tertiary or remedial incremental production.

Service Sector

The main area of investment interest for KKSH in the service sector is with companies that have niche technologies and markets. Typically we will look for ventures that have leading edge niche technologies with true scalability.

Exit Strategies

For KKSH to invest, there must be clear exit strategies, whether from industry sale, IPO or other liquidity event. Without a clearly demonstrable exit mechanism we find it hard to invest.
